This beautiful square has always been the place of the city market, whereas in the past it was mainly used for public executions and ceremonies. Many of these ceremonies are still alive today, like the parades, knights tournaments and the mayor election.

The pleasant aspect of the square, with the Town Hall overlooking it and tens of open air bars and cafés makes it one of the most packed places in summer, but also in winter the square has a unique charm, with the Christmas Market and the big Christmas tree which are staged right here.
