
Tallinn – European Capital of Culture in 2011
In 2011 the capital city of Estonia will be an absolute protagonist. Tallinn, in fact, has been designated as the European capital of culture, and some intense preparations are on track to show the world the cultural potential and the entertainment possibilities of the city. The subject-theme chosen for the event is "Stories of the coast", which aims at highlighting the spiritual bound between the city and its shore. Main events in 2010:
Tallin baroque music festival
A long existing music festival which takes place in the Old Town, mainly dedicated to Baroque music.

21th Festival Jazzkaar
Jazz music festival which takes place every year. It has become a benchmark for Estonian music, and it is considered the most important jazz festival of the Baltic, attended by international music stars and local talents. During the event over 50 concerts and performances take place in various towns throughout the country.

Tallin day
One of the city top events, celebrating its foundation. During the feast, Tallinn fills itself up with concerts, street parades, markets and medieval characters who liven up the streets of the Old Town.

Õllesummer Festival (Beersummer)
Beer Summer – the biggest outdoor event of the Baltic countries takes place every year in July, and plays host to international and national artists.

St. Martin`s Day Fair
This is a traditional fair which celebrates the local craftsmanship, with open workshops, culinary stands, folk music and historic dresses.
